Izzy Beaver and his friends were chased from their home in the woods by a big mean grey wolf and ended up in the field near you, where they now live [hint: keep an eye out for them next time you're out playing!]
Izzy Beaver always wears a party hat that he believes will bring him good luck.
Izzy is a rather lazy beaver and can be a bit greedy. He often gets into trouble when all the little creatures go on outings and he has to be rescued by Olive Owl.
Betsy Beaver lives in a little lodge next to the stream on the field. She is a very busy little beaver.
Barney Bat lives in the Belfry of a Church not too far from the field and he joins Olive Owl every night on trips to the woods to look for insects.
Harry Hedgehog likes to be punctual and he always arrives at breakfast on time. But he is a slow walker and often ends up having to be carried by Ron Raccoon.
Mickey Ferret lives in a little cottage near the field. He lives with his owners Lady Jane and the Squire. Lady Jane makes a fuss of Mickey Ferret and feeds him well. Mickey joins the little creatures on the field every day and sometimes takes them for outings in his little pedal car.
Molly Beaver lives in a little lodge near the stream on the field and she, like her little friend Betsy Beaver, is a very hard working beaver.
Milly Mole is a timid little mole and she is not very adventurous. She spends most of her time making tunnels under the field.
Ron Raccoon likes to be the leader of all the little creatures. He often organizes outings and tries to have a hand in every event that is happening on the field.
Olive Owl is very wise and the little creatures always ask her advice on matters. She often comes to the rescue of Izzy Beaver when he gets into trouble.
Peggy Squirrel lives in a tree trunk on the field and likes to mother all the little creatures. She goes to the market with her basket early in the morning to collect any veg, fruit and leaves that have fallen on the ground so that she can feed the little creatures living on the field.
“Your books are a fantastic and exciting way to invite children to find out about their local history. My class really enjoyed the author and illustrator workshop.”
